US-Based Reza Pahlavi Calls for Targeted Protests in Iran
Reza Pahlavi, the US-based son of Iran’s former shah, has called on Iranians to carry out more organized and targeted protests aimed at taking control of city centres.
In a video message shared on social media on Saturday, Pahlavi said the objective of protests should move beyond simply taking to the streets. He urged demonstrators to prepare to seize and hold key areas in major cities.
He also called for further protests over the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday. In his message, Pahlavi said he was preparing to return to Iran, adding that he believed the moment to do so was “very near.”
