Al Saad shines in Super Singles
Saudi Arabia’s Fahad Al Saad defeated Karim Abdulla of Bahrain 6-2, 6-3 in the first round of matches of the Super Singles of the 67th Indian Club Open Tennis Championship at its premises in Gudaibiya.
In other matches of the category, Yousif Qaed brushed aside the challenge of Qatari Mohammed Nasser 7-6(7- 4), 6-0 despite a tough first set and UAE’s Mohammed Nader bagged a 6-2, 6-2 win over Balazs from Hungary. In Boy’s under-18 semifinal action, Hamad Abdul A’al came from a set down to defeat Rico Cifra 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (10-5) and Rahul Jaideep won 6-0, 6-1 against Hussain Ali 6-0, 6-1. A veteran’s doubles semifinal match ended in Leo and Chris defeating Stalin Joseph and Uday Shanbhag 6-4, 6-3.
