ISTANBUL: Formula 1 has officially confirmed the return of the Turkish Grand Prix to the world championship calendar starting in 2027. Following a new agreement with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), the Intercity Istanbul Park circuit will host racing for five seasons, securing its place through 2031.
The 5.3km circuit, world-renowned for its high-speed, quadruple-apex Turn 8, last hosted Formula 1 as a replacement venue during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Türkiye’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, welcomed the deal, noting that the return of the pinnacle of motorsport reflects global confidence in the nation's world-class sports infrastructure.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali highlighted Türkiye’s passionate fanbase estimated at 19 million and Istanbul's unique position as a cultural gateway as key factors in the long-term partnership.
