A commercial dispute over unpaid invoices worth about BHD 11,000 was dismissed after the court found the amount had already been fully paid.
The case was filed by a supplier, which claimed it had not received around BHD 11,057 for raw materials delivered to a plastics company. However, the defendant argued that all dues had been settled through bank transfers.
The defence, represented by attorney Bashayer Al Naqeeb, presented bank records showing that all invoices had been cleared. It also submitted an email from a representative of the claimant company confirming receipt of payment, along with an account statement showing a zero balance. After reviewing the evidence, the court ruled in favour of the defendant.
It held that the email constituted valid written proof with full legal weight, equivalent to official documentation, and could not be challenged unless there was evidence of fraud, error or coercion — none of which was established.
The court concluded that the acknowledgment of payment was clear and decisive, leaving no legal basis for the claim. The lawsuit was therefore dismissed, confirming that the defendant had met all its financial obligations.
