The Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) and the Saudi Tennis Federation (STF) marked a new phase of cooperation by hosting their first joint friendly tournament for female players in Dammam.
The event, held at the Dammam Training Center, brought together female players from the BTF with girls and women from Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Bahrain’s team included players from the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 categories, alongside women enrolled in the BTF’s evening training program. This initiative was designed to give the female athletes valuable experience and exposure to different competitive playing levels.
Jameela Al Nashaba, BTF Board Member and Head of the Women’s Committee, stressed that the friendly matches fall under the strategic partnership between the two federations. “The initiative aims to strengthen women’s sports relations, exchange visits and expertise, and foster acquaintance with new players,” Al Nashaba stated.
The BTF Women’s Committee confirmed that more activities and events are planned for the national team girls and women, with additional joint friendly matches scheduled for November abroad. At the close of the tournament, Dr. Mervat Al Kuwai, Head of the Dammam Training Center, presented the BTF Women’s Committee with a commemorative shield, while the BTF delegation, led by Al Nashaba and Neila Al Meer, Committee Member and Board Member of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, presented a gift to the Saudi center in thanks for hosting the event.
