Ferran Torres struck twice as Barcelona pulled off a breathtaking late comeback to defeat Atletico Madrid 4-2 at the Metropolitano on Sunday, reclaiming top spot in LaLiga in dramatic fashion.

Atletico seemed destined for victory after Julián Álvarez opened the scoring just before halftime and Alexander Sørloth doubled their lead in the 70th minute. However, the visitors refused to back down, launching a relentless counterattack that turned the match on its head.

Robert Lewandowski pulled one back almost immediately, heading in Iñigo Martínez’s cross to bring Barça back into the fight. Ferran Torres then leveled the score in the 78th minute with a well-placed header from Raphinha’s delivery, silencing the home crowd.

With stoppage time ticking away, 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal unleashed a stunning long-range strike that left Jan Oblak helpless, putting Barça in front. Torres then sealed the victory with his second goal of the night, completing a ruthless four-goal blitz in just over 20 minutes.

"I am happy and proud of this team," said Barcelona coach Hansi Flick. "They never give up. It’s a huge three points, and we’re delighted to be back on top."

Barcelona are now level with Real Madrid on 60 points and have a game in hand, while Atletico sit third with 56. The two sides will meet again in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, with the second leg at the Metropolitano on April 2, following their thrilling 4-4 draw in the first leg.
