Shaikh Nasser attends Dubai Endurance

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Captain of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team yesterday met Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai during the Dubai International Endurance City Ride.

Shaikh Mohammed and the Crown Prince of Dubai HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum crowned Bahraini Riders Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and Raed Mahmood among the champions of the competition, in addition to a number of the UAE’s finest riders who participated in the event.

First place went to Emirati rider Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum who completed the race in 1 hour: 37 minutes and 55 seconds at a speed of 24km, while the second and third places went to fellow Emirati riders Abdulla Al Murri (1:37:18) and Saif Al Mazroo’ee (1:39:02).

Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa finished 1 hour 41 minutes 12 seconds, but his team partner Raed Mahmood was eliminated from the third stage of the race.

Shaikh Nasser congratulated Shaikh Mohammed and Shaikh Hamdan on the success of the competition and also noted the high technical levels shown by participants in the race and praised the members of the orgainising committee for bringing out such a successful event.

He highlighted the importance of the participation of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team in key regional and international competition, adding that the Dubai International Endurance City Ride is one of the most prominent endurance competitions in the region while speaking to the Emirati media on the sidelines of the competition.
