The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) has launched the second edition of the “Humanitarian Initiatives Competition” for secondary students at public and private schools, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

Held under the auspices of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, the “Humanitarian Initiatives Competition” 2023 aims to encourage secondary school students and foster their creativity in humanitarian and voluntary work, as well as prepare them to contribute to kingdom’s progress.

RHF Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, indicated that the competition reflects HH Shaikh Nasser’s keenness to encourage students to be creative in all fields of national work, noting that the contest aims to instill the voluntary work culture in the minds of youngsters, and provide a platform to highlight their voluntary and humanitarian contributions.

The RHF called on schools wishing to take part in the competition to register on its website no later than October 31, noting that an induction meeting and a workshop will be held for the participating teams during the first week, and the final initiatives will be submitted before December 14.

According to the competition rules, schools may nominate no more than two teams consisting of a maximum of five students.

The initiatives to be presented should not have been implemented before. They should also be cost-effective, feasible and target various social groups.

Ten projects will be shortlisted by a specialised jury, and the winners will be honoured and given cash awards during a ceremony to be held in March 2024.
