HH Shaikh Nasser inaugurates Royal Guard Champions Centre

National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, Major General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, patronised yesterday the opening of the Royal Guard Champions Centre.

The inauguration was held in conjunction with the 55th anniversary of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF). Major General HH Shaikh Nasser unveiled the commemorative plaque declaring the opening of the facility which is considered the biggest sporting centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain with an area of 2,500 sqm.

He listened to a briefing on the state-of-the-art facility, which is outfitted with around 140 sports equipment for various games. The centre also contains a multi-use sports track and two rings for combat sports.

HH Shaikh Nasser toured the centre and got informed about its equipment. He also met with a number of specialized trainers and praised the unlimited support accorded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to military sport.

He also commended the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, and the continuous follow-up of BDF Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that the new facility reflects constant keenness to develop the sport infrastructure for its role in enhancing the skills of the military personnel and maintaining their physical fitness. He praised the high level of the Royal Guard affiliates, commending the efforts of all the BDF personnel to boost the combat and administrative readiness.
