A side meeting focused on the ‘Cyber Leaders Forum’ under the Arab International Cyber Security Conference and Exhibition was held yesterday, where senior most international decision makers, influencers, and solution providers discussed strategies to have a better future for cybersecurity.

The forum included keynote, insightful presentations, fireside chats and panel discussions, covering pressing cyber risks facing the international community and best practices adopted worldwide. Afke Schaart, senior vice president and chief worldwide impact at Huawei, speaking to The Daily Tribune said: “We are pleased to be a part of the new endeavour in the Kingdom to introduce 5G.

We have made this region our focus for cyber security because there are an increasing amount of cyber-attacks.

“We have a center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but we are also active in Bahrain. We have a large office here, and many people work for us. I am astounded by Bahrain’s potential as a catalyst for technological advancement.

“We want to increase as much as we can our current involvement and interest in the Kingdom. We will continue, and since it is such a significant change for our industry, it is excellent that we are adaptable and making changes.

We are particularly involved in 5G industrial solutions, such as the auto motive that we recently announced in Dubai and also focus on healthcare, and sports. “It’s encouraging to see that the minds we collaborate with and the suppliers of our resources both use 5G, making it easier for individuals to use the machines without having to understand complicated processes.

Actually, it’s a change for the better in terms of living and working situations. We were successful in moving the company in the direction of our client.” Speaking to The Daily Tribune, Hanan Hassan, Assisting Manager marketing & innovation of the Benefit company, said: “Cyber security is our priority for us in Benefit given that we are the leading organisation in the field of financial transactions in the Kingdom.

It was very important for us to participate in such an event. “It is really important for us to follow the latest trends and also to share our success stories and experience with others.”
