The Daily Tribune –

The 11th eGovernment Excellence Award ceremony will be held on 27 October, the event’s organising committee announced.

It will be held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Council for Information and Communication Technology Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

This follows a recent announcement that the award’s jury committee had evaluated submissions by public and private sectors entities and individuals.

The event, held every two years, celebrates innovative ICT initiatives and eSolutions that support the Kingdom’s digital transformation strategy and help build a knowledge-based economy.

Categories for the public sector include Best Website, Best Government-to-Government eService, Best Practice in Community eParticipation, Best Integrated Services for Individuals or Businesses, and Best Application for Smart Devices.

For the private sector, the categories are Best Application for Smart Devices and Best eService, while citizens can compete for the Best eConcept and eCitizen.

This year approximately 260 participants have been submitted by entities and individuals.
