Bahrain’s education sector had made a quantum leap, thanks to the launch of King Hamad Schools of the Future Project in 2005, said Education Minister.

Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi also attributed the success to the Digital Empowerment in Education Programme launched in 2015, as per directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Dr Al-Nuaimi was opening the “EduNET Expo” at the Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Technical Boys School.

The minister further asserted that prestigious international entities had recognised the Kingdom’s strides in digital education.

Microsoft Corporation, the minister said, awarded nine public schools with the “Technology Incubator Schools” status and high-level professional certificates to hundreds of Bahraini teachers.

The minister praised the creative idea of the expo, which simulates the educational portal through realistic sections and models by students and teachers.

The minister highlighted the importance of EduNET that has become one of the pillars of education during the Coronavirus pandemic.

He pointed out that visits to the educational portal exceeded 10 million so far and 68 million last year.

The minister honoured teachers for activating the educational portal, EduNET, with a commemorative gift designed and created by the Carpentry Department.
