Block 742 Junction: Clear Warnings, Limited Change

At Road 4262 in Block 742, near Al Ramli petrol station, drivers do not glide through. They hesitate.

This intersection has become a point of unease for families, shop owners and daily commuters. Cars approach from different angles. Heavy trucks pass through. The surrounding area is dense with homes and commercial activity. The margin for error feels narrow.

The concern was formally raised before the municipal council after repeated incidents and growing anxiety among residents  . The message from the ground was simple: the junction feels unsafe.

The Ministry of Works responded clearly. Engineers examined the possibility of redesigning the junction or introducing structural changes. However, limited road width and the proximity of private properties mean that altering the layout is not considered feasible. The existing configuration will remain  .

Instead, the ministry confirmed that additional warning signs will be installed, road markings will be repainted and a raised asphalt surface will be introduced to slow vehicles, subject to procedural approvals  .

The answer, therefore, is measured improvement rather than reconstruction.
