Lulu celebrates British ‘Food Is Great’ festival

Lulu Hypermarket is currently showcasing the best of British food such as creamy cheeses, fruit cordials and juices, classic desserts, frozen chips, biscuits, chocolates and much more.

The ‘Food Is Great’ festival was inaugurated on May 26 at the Lulu Juffair Mall by British Ambassador H.E. Roderick Drummond and will run until tomorrow.

Shoppers will be able to make the most of the finest British summer treats, from freeze-packed berries to teas, British organic milk, flavoursome yoghurts and speciality loaves of bread.

The promotion will run across the entire chain of eight Lulu Hypermarkets in Bahrain. Many British products were specially flown in to fill the aisles of Lulu, the largest hypermarkets in Bahrain, for this promotion. You can easily whip up a traditional British meal, such as the fish and chips or Sunday roast, by choosing from the classic British dishes offered in both the hot and cold food sections.

The stores also showcase beauty and hygiene brands such as soaps, detergents and home cleaning products. ‘‘I was very pleased to open #BritishWeek at Lulu’s Hypermarket store in Juffair. There were lots of interesting choices from their UK distribution centre, which included organic and healthy produce and many famous British brands,’’ said Ambassador Drummond.

“At Lulu Hypermarket, we are proud of our long and delicious list of British products. We are delighted to showcase the best of Britain at this festival. Besides special promotions on British products, Lulu Hypermarket turned a tasty spotlight on British food, cheeses and drinks from the UK Home goods are also showcased,” said Director Juzer Rupawala. “The Lulu Group has its own logistics and warehousing facility in Birmingham to service our entire hypermarket chain.”
