Inmate laundered BD148,000 from inside prison

Three men took advantage of an inmate’s film production company to launder more than BD100,000, it was revealed.
The mastermind is an inmate who is already serving five years imprisonment after he was held guilty of running a prostitution network.
The other three are believed to have decided to rely on prostitution for living and joined hands with the inmate, who launched the film production company to legalise the cash he was receiving.
He was eventually arrested.
The defendants are said to have transferred BD148,000 abroad by tapping the film production company.
They landed into the police net after money-laundry investigators kept tabs on the transactions they were making.
It was found out that the defendants began in 2017, and the inmate was spearheading them from inside his cell.
