“When Crisis Struck, Bahrain’s Institutions Held Firm”

Bahrain’s national readiness reflects the strength of its institutions, with continued efforts focused on strengthening preparedness and ensuring the continuity of essential services, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said.

He said Bahrain's comprehensive development under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the direction of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, had strengthened the foundations of an institutional state based on law and cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities.

The Minister said regional developments and their security, economic and service-related repercussions had contributed to the continued development of Bahrain’s national crisis-management system. This includes stronger coordination between government bodies and improved response mechanisms.

He said during the Iranian attacks, the government adopted a proactive approach covering healthcare, essential services, the economy and supply chains, while maintaining price stability, national employment and government services. Efforts also included rebuilding damaged properties.

Shaikh Salman said Bahrain’s active regional and international diplomacy, including its presidency of the UN Security Council in April 2026, reinforced its calls for civilian protection, respect for international law and maritime security. He also highlighted the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.
