Northern Governor praises assistance for needy families in district

Northern Governor Ali bin Abdul Hussain Al Asfoor praised yesterday the directives of His Majesty the King’s Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs representative, National Security Advisor and Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) Board of Trustees chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to support families and Bahraini citizens in need, having been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

The move is in line with the “Feena Khair” national campaign and it follows the distribution of food packages within the “Your Food in Your Home” initiative, launched by the RHF in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. The Northern Governor said that such programmes help mitigate the effects of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Northern Governor praised the efforts carried out by Council of Representatives members MP Dr. Abdullah Al Thawadi and MP Basem Al Maliki in delivering the aid to families in need in Hamad Town.

The Northern Governor was speaking during his meeting with the representatives of the MPs, in the presence of Deputy Northern Governor Brigadier Khalid Sinan Al Dosari. The Northern Governor also lauded the existing cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, considering that the humanitarian work and the delivery of aid to the needy comes in an effort to support the entire community.

He stressed that the food drives contribute to strengthening the concept of partnership in society, and confirms the solidarity of all amidst the challenging times. For their part, the two MPs valued the efforts made by HH Shaikh Nasser and those in charge of the “Feena Khair” campaign, as well as the Ministry of Interior. They also thanked the Northern Governor for his cooperation.
