BMS praises financial incentives plan for medical professionals

Doctors in Bahrain received with great pleasure the directives of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister to study the appropriate mechanism for the appreciation and remuneration of medical professionals, in light of their invaluable contributions to the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This is according to Bahrain Medical Society (BMS) chairman Dr. Ghada Al Qassim “The doctors affiliated with BMS were heartened to hear such great news, as they were hoping to get rewarded a hazard pay and asked the society’s Board of Directors to follow up on the implementation of this reward from HRH the Prime Minister, affirming their eagerness to continue to work with sincerity and dedication that embody the highest noble human meanings and values for the medical profession,” said Dr. Al Qassim.

“BMS will follow up this issue with the concerned authorities in a manner that ensures the speedy implementation of this honourable directive. “I’m confident that the doctors will receive the financial support they seek over the coming period, especially that the medical and health professionals in the Kingdom are receiving all the support and attention from the rational leadership, governmental and private institutions, Bahraini community also shows of feelings of love, respect and sincere appreciation towards those fighting in the front lines to protect the Bahraini society from the spread of COVID-19 and keeping matters under control till it is eliminated, God willing.

” BMS further expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and their directives that contribute to Bahrain to having an internationally advanced position in the successful efforts to tackle COVID- 19. BMS highly values the unlimited great support of HRH the Prime Minister for medical and nursing professionals, as well as volunteers in the health sector in Bahrain, noting his praise for their efforts in the call of duty, and harnessing their full potentials to be on the front line of defense to maintain health security in the Kingdom.

The society also noted the great efforts made by HRH the Crown Prince as the head of Team Bahrain, which resulted in complete readiness to fight COVID-19 following an integrated work system, and HRH the Crown Prince’s directives to continue all precautionary measures to protect Bahrainis and residents from risk of infection and provide all necessary health and medical care to them.
