Forum ‘to showcase govt’s key developmental efforts’

I nformation Affairs Minister and Bahrain Institute of Political Development (BIPD) Board of Trustees’ chairman Ali Al Romaihi commended the 2019 Government Forum that will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, following the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister. 

He stressed the importance of 2019 Government Forum which, he said, aims to consolidate the efficiency of the Government’s work and support the march of comprehensive development process.  He said that the high-level 2019 Government Forum would be attended by ministers, executive officials and Government agencies, stressing the importance of the event which occurs in the run-up of the inauguration of the second session of the 5th legislative term. The minister said the forum reflected on the keenness on implementing projects and initiatives incorporated in the Government Programme 2019-2022 “Sustainable Economic and Social Security in parallel with Fiscal Balance”. 

The minister commended constructive co-operation between the executive and legislative branches of government to support the democratic process, spearhead infrastructure, services, health, educational and housing projects. He hailed wide-ranging legislations, efficient partnership between the public and private sectors towards serving the nation and citizens, creating more rewarding working opportunities and achieving financial balance and promoting economic and social development in accordance with the 2030 Bahrain Economic Vision, based on the principles of Justice, Competitiveness and Sustainability. 

He affirmed the ministry’s keenness on implementing a wide-ranging plan to ensure the coverage of the 2019 Government Forum and plenary sessions, in an atmosphere of transparency civilised dialogue via radio and TV programmes, Bahrain News Agency (BNA), social media websites, which contributes to informing citizens about key development topics, plans and programmes, which represent the cornerstone of development, within the landmark project led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.  HRH the Crown Prince has announced that the 2019 Government Forum will be on Sunday.

Since its inception, the Government Forum has provided an important platform for reviewing and developing the necessary public policies in order to continue delivering the Kingdom’s sustainable comprehensive development, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. This year’s forum will review government delivery, and address critical areas related to the Kingdom’s growth, including public sector productivity and diversification efforts designed to turn challenges into opportunities.

The forum continues to reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to increasing efficiency to achieve the Kingdom’s strategic goals and provide the best services to its citizens in line with the 2019-2022 Government Programme and the principles of sustainability, competitiveness and fairness, which are underpinned by Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
