Works Ministry receives more than 4000 complaints in H1

More than 4,000 complaints were received by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning in the first half of the current year with Road sector recording the most. Acting Communications Director at MoW, Hafedh Abdulghaffar, said the ministry in total received 4,123 complaints.

Roads Sector, Abdulghaffar said, recorded 2637 complaints with pavements and roads maintenance, repairing holes on pavements and roads, and paving new roads being the most repeated. Sanitary Sector received 496 complaints in the same period, and other directorates in the ministry received 23 suggestions.

Three most repeated complaints in the Sanitary Sector were for sanitary hole covers’ maintenance or replacements, making rainwater drainages and maintenance of sanitary and rainwater networks. April recorded the most with 824 complaints.

January closely followed by recording 784 complaints, then 722 in February, 639 in May, 634 in March, and lastly 520 in June. On the measures taken, Abdulghaffar said the ministry attended 184 complaints within the first 10 days of receiving them.

Tawasul’s popularity rise

The Acting Communications Director further pointed out that a total of 3327 complaints were received through the Tawasul system. The ministry also received complaints through other channels including telephone (528), Newspapers (136), in-person (55), Radio Bahrain (38), field visits (17), Instagram (11), Twitter (7) and four by email.
