Bomb making case: Court rejects appeal
Manama
---
Two persons sentenced to 10 years each in prison for making bombs had their appeal rejected yesterday. The duo made explosives by following instructions on Internet, and used them to target policemen.
They were arrested after a bomb containing potassium nitrate, which is found in sheep fertiliser and gunpowder, failed to go off. The accused were both convicted of making, possessing and using homemade explosives and taking part in illegal gatherings by the High Criminal Court.
They pleaded not guilty in court despite admitting their crime during interrogation. A policeman earlier said he received a tip-off that the accused were making explosives. It’s said that they participated in several attacks on police, where firebombs and metal rods were used. But later they started making bombs.
