Man arrested for defaming Caliphs as thieves and infidels

According to an announcement made by the Head of Hoora Police Station of the Capital Governorate Police Directorate, an individual has been arrested for delivering a sermon that threatens civil peace and social fabric.

The man, identified as Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Madhi is being held accountable for delivering a sermon that included defaming contents of the Caliphs of the early years of Islam known as “the Rashidun”, referring them as infidels and thieves.

Head of Hoora Police Station of the Capital Governorate Police Directorate added that Al Madhi violated article 310/2 of the penal code law by publicly defaming through his sermon an essential symbol to a sect.

The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal procedures.
