eNotary services launched

The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, yesterday launched Kingdom’s Private Notary Electronic Services aimed at further boosting the government’s role as a regulator.

The system was developed in line with the directives of the Executive Committee - chaired by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. The move allows the Ministry of Justice to centrally control notary transaction numbers and improve security standards by printing a two-dimensional barcode for verification of notarized documents.

Last June, the Ministry of Justice has signed an MoU with Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) to train accredited notaries on the newly launched electronic system.  One of the major features of the Private Notary electronic system includes unrestricted around-the-clock access from any location.

The system allows to receive and review notaries, register and print the transactions, obtain stakeholders signatures, online archiving for central database authentication and submit completed transactions to notary services. Commenting, the Minister said that the government is committed to developing Bahrain’s judicial services by integrating technological innovations following the principles of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
