Manama

The cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, called for adopting unified stances and rallying behind the leadership as the best way to fend off sedition and foil the attempts to subvert the kingdom’s security and stability.

The cabinet also condemned the heinous terror blast in Sitra, which led to the martyrdom of two on-duty policemen. The session offered deepest condolences to the families of the bereaved.

In a statement following the session, the Secretary-General of the Cabinet Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser said the cabinet considered the perpetrators as essential partners in the terror crime. It urged the competent authorities to quickly finalise the necessary security procedures to bring the criminals to justice.

“Such terror acts will not impede the government’s efforts to enhance development that benefits the nation and the citizens, nor will they affect its tireless work to maintain the kingdom’s status as a secure and stable nation under its leadership” said the cabinet.

The Premier underlined the need to continue dealing with terror groups and organisations relentlessly. He issued instructions to take all necessary security measures to protect the nation and the citizens from the acts committed by misguided groups.

 Scrutinising media

Prince Khalifa also issued directives to the Ministry of Information Affairs to follow up the coverage of local and foreign Press and media outlets of the kingdom’s issues and events. The Ministry was also requested to coordinate with Ministries and state departments to ensure mass media receive information from credible official sources as well as project the real image of the development boom currently witnessed by the kingdom in all fields.

The cabinet referred the consolidated final account of the Future Generations Reserve Fund for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2014, to the legislative branch after it had been audited by the National Audit Office, as required by the constitution and the law.
