Southern governor chairs extraordinary security meeting

ManamaSouthern Governor, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, chaired an extraordinary security meeting at the Southern Governorate’s premises and condemned the terror crime that targeted a police bus and led to the death of a policeman and the injury of several others.

Such a crime contravenes all human values and moral principles, the governor said, stressing that the terrorist attack will never affect the resolve and determination of the brave security personnel who are keen to make every sacrifice to protect the nation and its hard-won achievements, and ensure security for the citizens and residents.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali affirmed that terror attacks will not affect the cohesion and unity of the Bahraini people, whose members are aware of the purposes of such heinous crimes.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali expressed pride in the security personnel’s determination and dedication in combating terrorism and countering whoever seeks to tamper with nation’s security and stability, stressing that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. 

Addressing the meeting, the governor said that protecting public security and safety is a shared responsibility that should be assumed by all governorates, noting that cooperation and coordination is a priority for the security authorities in order to ensure the kingdom’s security and stability.

The meeting discussed a number of issues, including mainly precautionary measures to strengthen the pillars of security across the Southern Governorate in close cooperation with the security authorities. 

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali extended thanks and appreciation to the General Directorate of Traffic for its clear and effective efforts that have contributes to easing traffic congestions on King Hamad Avenue, particularly Alba Roundabout.

He also expressed full support for the initiatives and recommendations of the security authorities aimed at enhancing security services.

Shura Human Rights Committee as well as the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the terrorist attack yesterday. They expressed support and confidence for the kingdom’s security and stability.
