Ethiopian New Year Celebrated in Bahrain
More than 500 guests gathered to celebrate culture, diversity and friendship
The Consulate General of Ethiopia in Bahrain celebrated Ethiopian New Year 2019 with over 500 members of the Ethiopian community, Bahraini friends, members of the African Women Association and other guests.
Ethiopia will enter the year 2019 on Friday, September 11, according to the Gregorian calendar.
The event held under the national theme “Diversity: The Beauty of Ethiopia,” the celebration highlighted Ethiopia’s cultural diversity, traditions and spirit of peaceful coexistence.
The event featured Ethiopian music, traditions and hospitality, providing an opportunity for the Ethiopian community and Bahraini guests to celebrate together and strengthen ties between the two communities.
The celebration also emphasized messages of peace, unity, dialogue and national renewal, while highlighting the importance of cooperation and mutual respect in addressing differences.
The Consulate General reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ethiopian citizens in Bahrain and improving consular services through technology, transparency and streamlined procedures.
