Kingdom Leads GCC Healthcare Push
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the heads of delegations participating in the 12th meeting of the Committee of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Health Ministers, at Riffa Palace.
During the meeting, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted Bahrain's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to supporting efforts that advance the shared aspirations of the GCC countries, as well as working towards greater cooperation and integration.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister outlined that the historic ties and mutual ambitions of the GCC countries provide a solid foundation for further strengthening Gulf cooperation, in line with the aspirations of the leaders of the GCC states.
The heads of delegations conveyed the greetings of the leaders of the GCC countries to His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. While, His Royal Highness also extended the greetings of HM the King and his own greetings to the leaders of the GCC countries.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister wished the heads of the delegations success in their meeting and expressed his hope that it would play an important role in enhancing joint coordination and cooperation in developing healthcare systems and the quality and efficiency of healthcare services across the GCC countries.
His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of implementing measures brought forward by GCC leaders regarding the healthcare sector, which will further improve the quality of healthcare services and strengthen joint medical preparedness across the GCC.
For their part, the heads of delegations expressed their appreciation for His Royal Highness' commitment to supporting joint Gulf action, particularly in the healthcare sector, and to further developing healthcare systems across the GCC and enhancing their preparedness, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Dr Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and several senior officials also attended the meeting.
The 12th meeting of the Committee of GCC Health Ministers is hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of its presidency of the 46th Session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, the "Bahrain Summit".
