It’s time for swimming pool parties

Manama

A combination of soaring mercury levels and Eid holidays have given a busy time for the swimming pools in Bahrain with swimming pool parties are becoming a recent favourite in the Kingdom.

According a swimming pool worker in Sanad, until the first day of Eid, the swimming pool remained busy only during night. But afterwards, the pool became busy during daytime as well as night.  He said this year, the swimming pools started attracting people from March onwards. But during Ramadan season, most of the swimming pool parties had been held during night, as people were fasting throughout the day.

Even on the first day of Eid celebration, the swimming pool remained vacant as people remained indoors, wishing dear and near ones and exchanging gifts. But the busy season was given a kickstart yesterday, he said, adding that the same rush will continue until winter starts. “Now onwards, our swimming pool will remain busy during day and night,” he said adding that night is most preferred time for swimming pool parties.

He said that people book swimming pool at least two months in advance and it is very difficult to get swimming pools on rent during night. “During day times, you may get one or two free slots in a week. But during night, it is very difficult to get swimming pool on rent,” he said.

He said that a lot of people come from neighbouring countries like Saudi and United Arab Emirates come to enjoy swimming pool parties in the Kingdom. “This rush will continue until winter season starts. Once the temperature comes down, the demand for swimming pools also goes down,” he said.

Another swimming pool owner from Jasra said that during Eid holidays, they charge higher prices to encash on high demand. “During Eid holidays, we charge up to BD 100. On other days, the charges remain between BD 50 to BD 60 for 10 hours,” he said.
