Team Giving clinch bronze medal
Manama : Team Giving defeated Team Hope by 4-0 to clinch the bronze medal in the third place play-off match on Wednesday of the girls tournament in Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.
The organising committee awarded the player of the match award to Dua Al Mahmood of Team Hope.
In the youth centres and unregistered clubs tournament, Jidhafs Youth Centre won the third place play-off and bronze medal following a resounding 7-1 victory, with the Jidhafs goalkeeper Sayed Hassan Mahmood named as the player of the match.
The disabilities competition third place and bronze medal match was won by The Deaf Team edging out Bahrain Deaf Society 3-2 with Yousif Al Alwani the playing of the match from the winning team.
Meanwhile, the final matches of the three tournaments will be held on Sunday under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities for patronising and supporting youth and sports activities
A brand new car has been allocated for one lucky spectator of the final match and a total of BD20,000 cash prizes for the winning teams were announced.
The bronze medal matches were attended by a delegation of leading female figures in the Kingdom of Bahrain and praised the initiative by HH Shaikh Khalid and supporting youth and sports activities.
The delegation comprised Dr. Nancy Khadhouri, Shura Council Member, Dr. Fatima Al Kooheji, Shura Council Member, Shaikha Hessa bint Ahmed Al Khalifa, Head of the Sports Department in the University of Bahrain, Dr. Hanan Al Mowla, Law Professor in the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jafla Al Ammari, Information Technology Professor in the University of Bahrain, Dr. Salwa Al Thawadi, Life Science Professor in the University of Bahrain, Dr. Wafaa Janahi, Law Professor in the University of Bahrain and Dr. Fatima Al Maliki, Director of Training in the University of Bahrain.
They were received by Ali Al Arabi, Director of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League, Omar Abdulaziz Bukamal, Head of Shaikh Khalid’s Media Office, Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Olympic Committee Board of Directors Member and Head of the Woman and Sports Committee in Bahrain Olympic Committee and a number of the organising committee members and toured the photo exhibition and meeting the players and referees.
The league is jointly organised for the fifth consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.
