Sanad, Muharraq set up final

Manama : Sanad Youth Centre team was the first to qualify for the final of the main competition of the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at the Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town, following a 5-3 victory over underdogs Bu Quwah Youth Centre.

The organising committee awarded the man of the match award to Raed Baba of the victorious team.

In the second semi-final, Muharraq Youth Centre advanced to the final after a thrilling 6-4 victory over Jidhafs Youth Centre, thanks to a hat-trick by man of the match Ali Abdul Rasool.

League organisers have announced that the matches to determine the third and fourth places of the three tournaments will be held today at Khalifa Sports City Hall, with the first match at 5.30pm in the girls’ teams tournament between Team Giving and Team Hope, followed at 6.15pm in the disabilities tournament between the Deaf Team and Bahrain Deaf Society Team.

The youth centres third place match will be at 7pm between Bu Quwah and Jidhafs.

The organising committee also announced that the final day of the league has been changed to next Sunday and the final matches of the three tournaments being played.

They added that all preparations for the final ceremony have been finalised and a draw for a brand-new car has been allocated for a lucky spectator on finals day.

The latest dignitaries to attend the matches were Abdul Hameed Al Najjar, Member of the House of Representatives and Colonel Khalid Abdul Aziz Al Khayat, President of the Public Security Sports Federation, Bahrain Olympic Committee Board Member and President of Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation.

These officials were received by members of the organising committee and met with the participating teams, referees and coaches. They visited the photo exhibition gallery organised on the sidelines of the league.

The league is being jointly organised for the fifth consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting.
