HM the King pardons jailed Rajab
Bahrain
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday issued a Royal Decree to pardon jailed Nabeel Rajab, considering his health conditions.
Nabeel has been sentenced to six months in jail after being found guilty of insulting two state institutions in the capacity of the Interior and the Defence Ministries.
He described the security authorities in the Kingdom as the “first ideological incubator of terrorist organizations” through his Twitter account.
However, he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He was later released on bail subject to a condition of residence, pending the outcome of his appeal, before he was arrested over accusations of spreading false news about the Saudi-led military operations in Yemen.
It’s worth to note that Nabeel was released from prison in May last year after completing a two-year sentence for taking part in three different illegal rallies in Manama and damaging security.
