Vice Chairman P a r l i a m e n t a r y Committee on Defence and Foreign Affairs Jamal Bu Hassan revealed on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 that a Bahraini delegation had an interaction with an Iranian delegation in Paris and handed over a letter of condemnation to the head of the delegation.
Bu Hassan had been to Paris recently to attend a special conference on Iran. He was speaking to DT News after the press conference in the Parliament House where the heads of parliamentary committees including Majid Al Majid, Isa Al Koheji, Jamal Dawood, Mohammed Ismael Al Amadi and Dr Ali Bufarsan briefed the media about their performances.
The condemnation letter was given to the head of the Iranian delegation Mariam Rajab. The letter was duly signed by the 28 MPs and everything was written about what Iran was actually doing with Bahrain. “All the details of Iranian intervention had been included in the letter.”
He said that the Defence Committee raised the issue of Iranian intervention at all levels, including the European Union Parliament. “Iranian intervention had been the focus of the committee all along this year. I was the member of the delegation that visited the European Parliament and we conveyed to them how Iran was interfering in our internal affairs at all levels from smuggling explosives into Bahrain to the full fledge support to the state opponent elements in the Kingdom,” he explained.
He said that the European parliamentarians assured them full support in this regard. Meanwhile, Head of Woman and Child Committee in Parliament MP Dr Jameela Al Sammak said that the main achievement of their committee was the enactment of Law on Domestic Violence against women. The law has been approved by the Parliament and Shura Council. It will become law after the approval of His Majesty King Hamad.
“Our second most important achievement had been the conducting of first ever conference on women under the umbrella of parliament,” Al Sammak remarked. She added that the committee also launched a first ever book containing all legislation relating to women and children.
