Tamkeen mulls backing BIM

Manama : Tamkeen announced it is studying the possibilities of supporting Bahrain Investment Market (BIM), a project launched by Bahrain Bourse (BHB) to support entrepreneurs.

“Bahrain Investment Market is considered one of the promising projects. It will help startups to acquire the funding solutions they need in order to attain progress and success,” said Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi Chief Executive of Tamkeen.

Dr. Janahi also said the project is in line with Tamkeen’s objectives to aid the creation and development of enterprises in Bahrain for economic prosperity.

He said this while holding a discussion with Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Chief Executive of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) regarding the latest developments achieved in BIM. Bahrain Investment Market  or BIM is the BHB’s international market for companies seeking access to growth capital.

“BIM is one of the initiatives that the Bourse launched to support entrepreneurs by providing financing alternatives with reasonable cost to finance their expansion plans in comparison to banking loans,” said Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Chief Executive of Bahrain Bourse (BHB).

He also pointed out that growing companies that have a record of success, expertise and clear business plan can seek listing in BIM.

“BIM has been created to help companies fund their expansion plans by raising capital through Bahrain Bourse,” Shaikh Khalifa added.

In this regard, he further said that the bourse is all set to approve  the applications made by consultants who seek to represent their companies at BHB in all listing stages, starting with submitting the listing application until raising capital.
