Bahrain supermarket announce offer on pricing scandal
Manama : A supermarket group in Bahrain has announced that if there is a difference in price between the specified point of sale and shelf, customers can consider it ‘free’. The management of Macromart/Megamart/Babasons announced this today on their Facebook page. This announcement comes in the context of price scandals that led to the closure of all the five branches of Al Ruyan Cold stores and the Janabiya branch of Al Jazira Supermarket following discrepancies in pricing confirmed after the inspection of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce officials .
‘We periodically amend commodity prices through our staff or through cooperation with some supplier companies, and since this is done manually, do not rule out the presence of unintentional human error ,and the interest of the group’s management to avoid any additional costs to our dear customers ,it was decided to consider any good ‘free’ if there’s a difference in price between the specified point of sale and shelf, ’ the announcement says.
Earlier Midway Supermarket also announced that any product with different prices between counter and tag is free!
