EWA Minister to attend Abu Dhabi summit
Manama : Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza will take part in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability 2017. The conference will discuss areas of renewable energy and the activities of the International Renewable Energy Agency.
The recipient of the Zayed Future Energy Prize will also be announced during the event, attended by a number of heads of state, ministers, ambassadors and a large number of officials and specialists.
The event, which began on January 12, coincides with the opening of the World Future Energy Summit and the Water Summit.
Bahrain was one of the first countries in the region that became a member of the agency in 2009 after it was set up in the German city of Bonn.
Dr. Mirza, who is attending the event at the invitation of UAE Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazroui, said Bahrain’s participation in the event is significant at the local, regional and international level as more than 80 countries from around the world participate.
