The 28th edition of StartUp Bahrain Pitch Series crowns "Durrah"& "Edupath" as winners

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom of Bahrain and support the growth of startups, StartUp Bahrain, the Kingdom’s leading national platform for supporting startups, powered by Tamkeen, hosted the 28th edition of StartUp Bahrain Pitch. 

The event was held in the presence of Ms. Dalal Al Ghais, Chief Executive of the Bahrain Development Bank Board, Mr. Khalid Al Bayat, Deputy CE for Program Design & Delivery at the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), along with several members of Tamkeen’s Board of Directors, the SME Development Board, and the Economic Development Board. 

The Startup Pitch series is held in collaboration with the SMEs Development Board and provides an interactive platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their ventures before a group of experts and investors, and gain the mentorship and guidance needed to further develop their ideas and enhance their growth and expansion. 

The event also showcased a group of innovative startups offering digital and technology-driven solutions across various sectors, including Jamaheer, a digital football platform that connects fans with their clubs through live match data, official content, fan engagement and merchandise; Edupath, a digital platform that helps parents choose the right school for their children based on personality, budget, and curriculum preferences; Durrah, an online marketplace for dress rental and resale, offering verified listings, secure payments, deposit protection and AI-generated photography; and Oberry, a retail marketplace combining short-video product discovery and instant purchasing on one screen, featuring content from buyers and creators.

The event featured the participation of a group of leading speakers, experts and investors from the entrepreneurship ecosystem, including Sameer Uchi, Al Amanna Capital Deputy Chairman and keynote speaker, Bader Sater, Bahrain Fintech Bay Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Salahuddin, BNVT Capital Investment Associate and Laith Al Khalili, Investments Associate Director, at Mumtalakat. 

After the participating startups presented their projects and were evaluated by the judging panels, the winners were announced with “Durrah” awarded first place and “Edupath” awarded second place. 

On this occasion, Fatima Al Najem from "Durrah" expressed pride in earning first place, saying: 

"Winning first place represents an important milestone in our journey and is a testament to our team’s dedication to developing an innovative business model that effectively addresses market needs. Participating in the StartUp Bahrain Pitch competition provided us with a valuable opportunity to present our solution to a distinguished panel of experts and investors, whose insights and feedback will play an important role in supporting our future growth and expansion.” 

Meanwhile, second place winner Batool Al Abbar from “Edupath”, emphasized that the achievement reinforces the team’s commitment to advancing the project and driving its next phase of growth. She highlighted that the StartUp Bahrain Pitch competition offered an excellent opportunity to present the project to a wider audience, while building meaningful connections with entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem experts. 

Tamkeen’s support for StartUp Bahrain aligns with its strategic priorities for 2026, which focus on supporting initiatives with high economic impact, enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector, connecting skills with the needs of the labor market, and adopting innovative approaches to stimulate the growth and expansion of startups, contributing to the Kingdom’s sustainable economic development.
