Social Development Minister Visits Muharraq Centre
Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, visited the Muharraq Social Welfare Centre to mark the International Day for Older Persons, highlighting the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen communication with older persons and recognise their contributions to society.
During the visit, the Minister met with several elderly persons, spoke with them and inquired about their well-being and needs. He also reviewed the centre’s operations and the level of care and services provided before touring several of its facilities.
Minister Al Alawi affirmed the attention and care given to older persons, noting that the International Day for Older Persons reflects appreciation for their status and the contributions they have made to society.
He also stressed the Ministry’s commitment to further enhancing services provided to older persons in a way that meets their aspirations.
Minister Al Alawi commended the centre’s staff for their efforts and their role in caring for older persons and following up on their affairs.
