All the countries of the world must sit together to devise a cogent strategy to tackle the growing threat of Islamic State as they are fast approaching us too, MP Mohammed Al Maarfi said here on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
He was speaking to DT News in the aftermath of Kuwait tragedy where a suicide bomber had killed 27 worshippers during Friday prayers. IS claimed the responsibility of the attack.
He said that it was very difficult to cope with this complex issue of IS. “How can you fight an enemy who is not concentrated at one place but scattered around different and far off locations in the world?” asks Maarfi stressing, “If you want to defeat them you will have to bring them to one place.”
Unfortunately when you confine them to one place they pop up at another place, he said. He said he had already told that the IS could have sleeping cells. The government and the Ministry of Interior should take strong measures to crush them before they could cause any harm. Responding to a question, he said that Bahrain is a small country and its government had more control over its territory and he hoped that the security forces would act preemptively to avoid any untoward situation.
A year has passed since the IS was born. During this short period of time it took control of large swathes of areas in the two countries Syria and Iraq and has grown up into a large force with 25000 fighters from 100 countries. It has replaced the Al Qaeda. It has now become rich with the capture of oil wells and is giving salaries even to its foot soldiers. On the other hand the GCC countries as well as the United Nations have failed to make any cogent strategy to defeat them.
Head of Woman and Child Committee in Parliament Dr Jameela Al Sammak told DT News that what happened in Kuwait was an act of terrorism and she strongly condemned it. She asked all the people to be united in order to fight against such irresponsible moves.
Dawa Director Discover Islam Shaik Ahmed Khan told DT News that a conspiracy to make Muslims fight each other was made behind these acts. He said that IS and other such outfits were simply the instruments in the hands of the masterminds. He added that the Muslims needed to wake up and realise where they were standing. He said that all the Muslim countries were in a state of war. Everywhere in the Islamic world there is conflict and strife and this situation demands that the Muslims should stand up and tell the world that they were united.
Ahmed said that the reaction of Kuwait government against the tragedy was very mature and shows that they were heading toward reality instead of emotionalism. “Tragedy took place in the Shia mosque but they opened the doors of big Sunni mosque to accept condolences,” said Maulana Ahmed. He added that a big war had been waged at the social media but they were not in a position to use this weapon accurately.
