Uzbekistan beat Bahrain
Manama : Bahrain’s Asian Football Confederation Russia World Cup 2018 Group H qualifiers finished disap-pointingly as the national team was defeated by Uzbekistan (1-0) following a 50 minute strike by Sardor Rashidov yesterday at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent.
The Bahrainis under Argentinian coach Sergio Batista finished fourth in the five-team group for Russia 2018 and have qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup third round qualifiers.
Uzbekistan’s win gave them top place in the group and advancing to the third round which comprises two groups of six.
