Muharraq Club win HM the King Football Cup

Manama: Youth and Sport Affairs Minister Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder congratulated Muharraq Club, under the chairmanship of Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, on winning HM King Hamad Football Cup after defeating Riffa Club in the final match.

He commended the royal patronage of the final match and HM the King’s keenness to provide every support to Bahraini athletes and sport.

He also lauded the attendance of the final match by Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his support to the youth and sport movement in Bahrain.

Al Jowder praised the high performance of Riffa Club throughout the match wishing the players every success in the next competitions. He also lauded the role of Bahrain Football Association, led by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, in ensuring good organisation of the championship.

he Muharraq Club, which won the 2015-2016 HM the King Football Cup after edging Riffa Sport Club in the final match, received congratulatory messages from various officials yesterday. 

The club won the cup for a record 32nd time when they defeated arch-rivals Riffa Club 3-1 in the final at the National Stadium in Riffa on Thursday.

Parliament Chairman

Parliament Chairman Ahmed Al Mulla has congratulated Muharraq Club Board Chairman, members, players and fans on winning HM the King Football Cup.

Al Mulla also lauded the performance of the Riffa Club, praising their ability to reach the final. He commended the good efforts of the Bahrain Football Association and its committees, wishing the Bahraini sports community further success.

The Parliament Chairman also confirmed the Representatives Council’s support to Bahraini athletes in all sports.

HM the King’s Adviser for Sport & Youth Affairs

HM the King’s Adviser for Sport and Youth Affairs Saleh bin Hindi also congratulated the Muharraq Club Board Chairman on their win, noting that the victory is the fruitful outcome of the sound planning of the club’s Board of Directors. 

He commended the Muharraq Club’s high technical level that qualified them in clinching the title.

Club thanks HRH Premier

Muharraq Club board Chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa thanked Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa in reply to his congratulations on the club’s winning of HM the King Football Cup. 

Shaikh Ahmed extended, on behalf of the club’s Board of Directors and affiliates, utmost thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his kind gesture.

He voiced deep pride in the Premier’s gesture, which, he said, confirms his constant interest in the youth and sport movement in the Kingdom. 

He also pledged to spare no effort to continue serving the Kingdom.
