PM lauds Bahrain’s cohesive society

The Bahraini people, who endorsed the National Action Charter (NAC) by an overwhelming majority, will not allow terrorist groups to impose their agenda and achieve their goals on the soil of this cohesive society, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

“Bahrain has always been, and will remain, a one society that embraces all its segments and spectra,” Prince Khalifa stressed, adding that the Kingdom is a “nation for co-existence and respect for religions and sects.”

HRH Premier was speaking in a meeting with the US Ambassador to Bahrain, William Roebuck at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

“The NAC, which was the outcome of a royal vision, paved the way for development and modernisation in the political, economic and human rights fields,” Prince Khalifa remarked.

Commenting that economic challenges had affected all countries, HRH the Prime Minister urged for holding regional, Arab and international meetings and summits to address them.

HRH Premier said that the Kingdom is looking forward to opening up new horizons of economic cooperation with the USA to ensure taking optimum advantage of the two countries’ economic and trade agreements.

In the meeting, Roebuck assured the US support to the measures taken by Bahrain to safeguard its security.

“Bahrain is a strategic ally to the USA,” he added, noting that his country is always looking forward to strengthening its relations with the Kingdom.
