His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said the National Action Charter (NAC) ushered in a new era of comprehensive development based on a vision endorsing the democratic approach as an alternative to boost popular participation. HM the King described the charter as a milestone in Bahrain’s contemporary history to follow on the footsteps of the forefathers, who made enormous sacrifices for the sake of national sovereignty and glory. 

Marking the 15th anniversary of the NAC, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received the members of the royal family at Sakhir Palace yesterday, in the presence of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. 

Addressing the audience, HM the King paid tribute to the Bahraini people for their patriotic stances and consensus on the fundamentals of national work. 

“Celebrating the NAC anniversary is a celebration of the success of the national march to which the Bahraini people contributed,” HM the King said, stressing the role of the charter in boosting the political rights of Bahraini women and empowering them. 

On the occasion, HM King Hamad praised the national institutions and the effective national role of the executive, legislative and judicial branches in mapping out policies to boost citizens’ welfare. 

Paying tribute to the Bahraini armed forces for being part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition and their role in defending the Arab nation and legitimacy in Yemen, HM the King also commended the tremendous sacrifices of the public security and National Guard personnel to maintain security in Bahrain. 

The royal family members extended to HM the King heartfelt congratulations on the national occasion. They lauded the Kingdom’s achievements in various areas. 

HM the King also visited the NAC monument where he was welcomed by Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi, senior officials, students and staff members of public and private schools and universities.
