Drug peddling: Jail term upheld
The Supreme Appeals Court has upheld the 10-year jail sentence issued against a Bahraini man convicted of peddling drugs. The defendant was arrested in a sting operation in which he tried to sell hashish with a street value of BD100 to an undercover police officer.
The duo met after the officer was assigned to lure him into accepting to sell illicit drugs. The police officers caught him red-handed.
According to court files, police found several pieces of hashish in his possession. He also tested positive for the same drugs. The defendant was earlier fined BD3000, which was also supported by the Appeals Court.
