Information Minister praises literary icons Al Sharqawi and Ajlan

Minister highlights decades of contributions to poetry, literature, song and drama

Information Minister Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi visited prominent Bahraini poet and writer Ali Al Sharqawi and acclaimed poet Fathiya Ajlan, praising their lasting contributions to Bahrain’s cultural and literary scene.

During the visits, the minister checked on Al Sharqawi’s health and wished him continued good health and wellbeing.

Dr Al Noaimi described Al Sharqawi and Ajlan as two leading figures in Bahrain’s cultural and literary landscape, highlighting their decades of creative contributions across poetry, literature, song and drama.

He said their work has remained closely connected to Bahrain, reflecting the Kingdom’s identity, values and collective memory, while expressing feelings of loyalty, belonging and pride in the country.

The minister praised the lasting impact of their works on Bahrain’s cultural and artistic memory and their contributions to strengthening the presence of Bahraini creativity across the wider Arab cultural scene.

He added that the poets’ enduring national works will continue to inspire new generations of creators and serve as a testament to Bahrain’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.

Dr Al Noaimi reaffirmed the importance of honouring and recognising Bahrain’s cultural and artistic figures and their contributions throughout their careers.

He wished both poets continued health and wellbeing, expressing hope that their rich creative legacy would remain a lasting and inspiring part of Bahrain’s cultural memory.
