Older Roads Get New Lighting

Three roads in Northern Governorate’s sixth constituency receive new lighting, with more roads approved for upgrades.

Three roads in the sixth constituency of the Northern Governorate have received new lighting columns as part of efforts to improve infrastructure in the area.

The work covers roads 3607, 3609 and 345 and followed coordination between the Electricity and Water Authority, the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. Councillor Abdulla Ashoor said the coordination was needed to determine the implementation arrangements and funding.

The Ministry of Works explained that lighting columns are normally installed as part of new road construction projects, meaning existing roads require separate arrangements. The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture subsequently allocated the required budget following coordination meetings involving municipal councils, ministries and government bodies.

Ashoor said further roads have received the necessary approvals for lighting work, including road 3631 near Al Hamza Mosque and roads 3413, 3425 and 3426 near Aali Intermediate Girls School. He said lighting projects would continue gradually across the area until the roads covered by the plan are completed.
