The Information Ministry’s Equal Opportunities Committee held its regular meeting, chaired by Abdulrahman Khalid Al Midfaa, Assistant Undersecretary for News and Regulatory Affairs, with the participation of committee members.
The meeting reviewed several matters related to the committee’s work, including participation in the eighth edition of the Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Productive Families for 2024–2026, as well as preparations and activities marking Bahraini Women’s Day.
The committee also followed up on previous decisions and discussed coordination with relevant authorities on upcoming activities and initiatives aimed at promoting equal opportunities and supporting women’s advancement across the ministry’s departments and sections.
The committee commended the prominent role of Bahraini women in the media sector during coverage of the Iranian aggression against Bahrain, praising their readiness, professionalism and national responsibility as they carried out various media roles around the clock.
It said the active participation of Bahraini women during the exceptional circumstances demonstrated their competence and professionalism, while highlighting their role as key partners in enabling the national media to fulfil its responsibilities towards the nation and society.
The committee stressed the importance of continuing efforts to promote equal opportunities and gender balance, while supporting the ministry’s initiatives to empower Bahraini women and strengthen their contributions to the national media sector.
It also praised the continued support and follow-up of Information Minister Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi for the committee’s work and efforts in this field.
