Bahrain Expands Video Consultations at Primary Health Centres

Patients in Bahrain will have greater access to remote medical consultations following the launch of an enhanced video consultation service at Hamad Town Health Centre.

The service was launched in the presence of Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), and Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health.

Dr. Shaikh Mohammed said the development of video consultations is part of Bahrain’s efforts to modernise its healthcare system and use technology to deliver more efficient and sustainable services.

He said digital healthcare solutions can make medical services more accessible while supporting the Kingdom’s wider digital transformation in the health sector.

Health Minister Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan described the service as an important addition to healthcare services for citizens and residents, particularly when an in-person visit is not required.

She said video consultations can support continuity of care, improve the patient experience and make more efficient use of healthcare resources.

Primary Healthcare Centres will continue developing digital healthcare services to meet community needs and keep pace with advances in the healthcare sector.
