Bahrain Reaffirms Support for Saudi Arabia’s Self-Defence
The Kingdom of Bahrain has reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed strong support for the measures taken by the Kingdom in response to repeated attacks targeting its oil facilities and vital infrastructure.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saudi Arabia has the legitimate right to defend its territory, security and sovereignty in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
Bahrain also expressed support for lawful Saudi measures, including actions taken in coordination with US Central Command (CENTCOM) against targets inside Iraq linked to the attacks.
The Ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia has continued to prioritise peaceful solutions and de-escalation, noting that military action was undertaken only after peaceful avenues had been exhausted and as part of its right to self-defence.
Bahrain also praised the readiness and effectiveness of Saudi Arabia’s air defence forces in protecting the Kingdom.
The Ministry further stressed that Bahrain and the other GCC member states stand united with Saudi Arabia, affirming that the Kingdom’s security and stability are inseparable from the collective security of the Gulf under the GCC Joint Defence Agreement.
