Two Firms Bid for BD1.4m Mara’ee 2026 Contract
A BD1.4 million contract is up for grabs to run Bahrain’s next Mara’ee livestock and farming show, with the event’s full design, build and staging now put out to tender.
The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has opened bids for the Bahrain International Animal Production and Agriculture Exhibition, Mara’ee 2026, covering all work from planning and marketing to construction, production and on-site delivery.
Two firms have bid for the job. FAALIYAT W.L.L submitted the lower offer at BD1,231,576.500, while Pico International Bahrain put in a bid of BD1,429,490, according to tender records.
The winning contractor will be asked to produce the opening ceremony, stage live animal shows, prepare the agricultural production area and build temporary facilities for the event.
The tender papers also call for the firm to handle the technical and logistical work needed to run the exhibition.
Mara’ee has grown into one of Bahrain’s main showcases for livestock, farming and food production. It brings breeders, farmers, agricultural firms and overseas guests under one roof.
The show has been used in past years to present rare Arabian horse breeds, prized livestock and animals raised by Bahraini breeders and farm owners.
It also gives local farmers and breeders a shop window for their products, while drawing companies working in crop production, animal care, farm equipment and related fields.
The ministry sees the event as a way to push food production, widen sources of supply and bring investment into farming and livestock.
Previous editions drew large crowds from Bahrain and abroad, helped by a mix of trade stands, animal displays, farming exhibits and family shows.
The 2026 tender is part of the ministry’s plan to stage the next edition of Mara’ee as a platform for Bahraini produce, farming projects and the livestock sector.
