Bahrain Small Vessel Registrations Reach 9,636
Bahrain's small vessel registry recorded 8,729 transactions during the first half of 2026, as the total number of registered small marine vessels rose to 9,636, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications announced.
Bader Hood Al Mahmood, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs, said 8,814 valid marine driving licences were in circulation by the end of June, reflecting increased maritime activity and stronger compliance with safety regulations.
During the six-month period, the office registered 133 new vessels, renewed 1,366 registrations, issued and renewed 3,624 marine driving licences, and carried out 1,499 technical inspections of boats and jet-skis.
Al Mahmood added that 60.6% of all transactions were completed electronically through the small vessel registration portal, highlighting the ministry's progress in expanding digital services and improving user access.
